Mammad Abbasbayli

About

Mammad Abbasbayli was born on May 17, 1975, in Ganja city. From 1992 to 1997, he received higher education in International Relations at Azerbaijan Caspian University and in Law at Baku State University. In 1999, he obtained a master's degree in the history of US foreign policy at Purdue University, and in 2000, a master's degree in Law at George Washington University. Since 2000, he has been a bona fide member of the New York State Bar Association. He started his career in 2000 at the law firm "Salans Hertzfeld & Heilbronn" in New York City and continued working in its Baku office until 2003. From 2004 to 2008, he held positions as a lawyer, head of the legal department, and chief manager at various large foreign industrial and investment corporations such as "Azpetrol International Holdings B.V.," "EUPEC Pipe-Coatings LLC," and "BP Group." From 2009 to 2014, he worked as the CEO of "CRA Group," a company engaged in asset management in Azerbaijan. During the same period, he served as a member, co-chair, and chairman of the boards of directors of mobile and fixed communication and telecommunication companies, a foreign gold and non-ferrous metal production company, oil and gas, and major construction industry companies. From 2013 to 2014, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Business Department of ADA University and co-chair of a committee under the Board. In 2016, he was elected president of the Azerbaijan Alpinism Federation. From 2019 to 2020, he worked as an advisor to the Minister of Economy. In 2020, he was appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a member of the Appeals Council of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. By the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 8, 2020, he was appointed as the deputy head of the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Supervision under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. By the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated March 30, 2021, he was appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of Baku Metropoliten Closed Joint Stock Company. By the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 23, 2021, he was appointed as the head of the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Supervision under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He is married and has three children.
