In connection with the 100th anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, a tree planting campaign was organized at the "Khocasan" electric depot by "Baku Metro" CJSC and the Yasamal district organization of the New Azerbaijan Party.
On December 23, 2022, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the first phase of construction works was completed and the "Khocasan" electric depot, covering 24.28 hectares, was put into operation. Serving the purple line, over 1,000 trees have been planted and greenery laid in the depot to date. The construction works at the electric depot located in the Khocasan settlement are carried out in three phases, according to the pre-designed project. This includes the creation of recreational corners for the depot workers to spend their leisure time in an ecologically clean environment in the future.
During the next campaign within the "Heydar Aliyev Year," nearly 200 olive trees were planted in the depot area, considering the seasonal conditions and soil characteristics of the area. Activists of the district organization and members of the "Baku Metro" CJSC collective actively participated in the greening efforts in the newly commissioned depot area, contributing to the future.
Previously, the current area of the depot had scattered buildings. Another part was a swamp that negatively impacted the ecological environment, with various wastes creating unsanitary conditions. The construction of the depot and the beautification works carried out according to the project have significantly improved the ecological environment of the area in a short period.
Greening measures in the depot area will continue according to seasonal requirements in the future.
