Within the framework of the "Heydar Aliyev Year" in 2023, "Baku Metro" CJSC implemented another significant social project. A children's entertainment and sports playground was opened to the public on June 1 - International Children's Day, in the renovated area above the ventilation shaft near the "Neftchilar" station, for the residents of the surrounding buildings and neighborhoods. This provides an opportunity for effective leisure, entertainment, and rest for the children and residents nearby, a gift from the Baku metro.
During the major repair works, the shaft's kiosk was reconstructed to modern standards. Measures were taken to ensure the long-term protection of the open-air kiosk from atmospheric effects. In this regard, the lower part of the structure was renovated with modern construction materials. The upper metal structure was painted with corrosion-resistant paint. A new security kiosk was built. Adequate sanitary and domestic conditions were created for workers in the completely reconstructed service rooms.
As part of the beautification works, a green zone was created on the perimeter of the area. Two conversation corners were built. Relevant works were carried out on the walls of the technical zone of the shaft. Appropriate relief and smoothing works were conducted for the construction of the children's entertainment and sports playground, with necessary areas asphalted. Suitable structural conditions were created for the areas where entertainment and sports equipment are located. In total, 16 children's entertainment, fitness, and sports-trainer equipment were installed in the area. Additionally, a running track was designated for those engaged in sports walking. Two more conversation corners were installed inside the technical zone of the shaft for those spending their leisure time.
The lighting system in the area was completely reconstructed and adapted to the requirements of the children and sports playground. A drainage system was installed for the direction of precipitation.
As part of the beautification, 50 plane trees were planted in the area. Fifty evergreen bushes were placed around the entertainment and sports zones.
Special work regimes were determined for the implementation of preventive measures for the observance of sanitary and hygiene standards. Accordingly, except for noon and night hours, the children's entertainment and sports playground will be open for residents' access.
