Zaur Mir Tofiq oglu Huseynov was born on September 26, 1964, in Baku. In 1986, he graduated from the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and later in 2006, he completed his Executive Management MBA at St. John's University in the United States. Z. Huseynov began his professional career as a shift electromechanic in an oil exploration expedition and later worked in responsible positions at various large construction, production, and energy supply enterprises of the republic. By the decree No. 290 of President Ilham Aliyev dated February 27, 2014, he was appointed as the head of the "Baku Metro" Closed Joint-Stock Company. He is fluent in Russian and English. He is married and has a son and a daughter.
