From September 16, the Baku Metro will adjust train operations to meet the requirements of the autumn-winter season. With the conclusion of the active holiday period and the start of the new academic year, the number of trains on the lines will increase, and intervals between trains will be shortened. According to an order signed by the Chairman of Baku Metro CJSC, Zaur Huseynov, a new train timetable has been approved.
On the Green and Red lines, during weekdays, peak hours will be from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. During these times, the optimal schedule, considering the technical capacities of the Baku Metro, will be applied, with minimum intervals. On the "Həzi Aslanov-28 May" section and vice versa, the minimum interval will be 2 minutes. Outside peak hours, the interval will increase to 25 minutes during lunchtime and to 3 minutes or more during early morning and late evening when passenger numbers decrease.
Due to the technical characteristics of the Baku Metro, trains on the Green and Red lines depart exclusively from the "Narimanov" electric depot. In cases where trains are dispatched or returned, different intervals will be applied. For example, when a train is dispatched on the "Bakmil" line, two consecutive trains can be sent towards "Dərnəgül" or "İçərişəhər." During these times, the intervals on the "Həzi Aslanov-Narimanov" section will be twice as long as usual.
To manage the expected passenger load, additional trains will be deployed as necessary, and regular monitoring will be conducted. During peak hours, measures will be taken to regulate the flow of passengers at key stations like "Memar Əcəmi" and "Neftçilər," while extra trains will be used during other periods to ensure smooth operations.
On weekends, a different timetable will be applied. On Saturdays, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, trains will run at intervals of 25 minutes, while on Sundays, the interval will be 3 minutes during the same hours. Changes to the schedule will also be made on public holidays or days when major events are held, and the public will be informed in advance.
The new timetable will remain in effect until the summer of 2025. For more information, including the schedule of depot trains, passengers can visit the official website (https://metro.gov.az/az/page/muddealar/depo-qatarlarinin-hereket-cedveli) by September 15.
Regular monitoring of the stations' infrastructure and engineering systems will also be conducted. Passengers are urged to be cautious, especially on platforms, and to follow all guidelines, including allowing passengers to exit before boarding, avoiding delays at escalators and door zones, and adhering to hygiene regulations. Furthermore, passengers are advised to minimize distractions such as the use of electronic devices.
Let’s not forget that one passenger's failure to follow the rules can inconvenience thousands of others, causing delays in reaching their destinations. Therefore, we kindly ask all passengers to respect these regulations.
