It is noted that on New Year's Eve, January 1, the Baku Metro extended its operation for an additional hour considering the interest of those strolling in the city, participating in festivities on streets and squares, and watching the fireworks at the Seaside Boulevard. However, considering the passenger flow, all stations remained open for entry until 02:00 AM. No serious negative incidents were observed on New Year's Eve in the metro.
Compared to December of the previous year, 43,937 or 0.2% fewer passengers were transported in the report month. Compared to December 2019, 6.87% fewer passengers were transported in the last month of 2023. Despite this, December 2023 saw the highest number of passengers transported during the year.
