15 JANUARY / 2024 / 11:55

The number of passengers has increased under the "Accessible Metro" project. The year 2023 marked a period of innovations for this direction. A record number of 918 passengers were transported under the "Accessible Metro" project in 2023, with only seven cancellations. For comparison, 689 people used the "Accessible Metro" project in 2022.
During the execution of project orders, additional training was provided to the accompanying group members, and tests based on the nature of the work were conducted. Based on the monitoring for additional technical equipment, two more devices manufactured in Russia with relevant international certificates have been purchased. These devices, intended for escalators, are distinguished from their counterparts technically in terms of mobility and safety.
Due to increased passenger activity, two new transportation devices for escalators have also been introduced in the metro. Monitoring and research related to the expansion of technical capabilities in this direction continue.
Overall, the project was created for individuals with limited mobility using the metro, including wheelchair users, those with limited vision and hearing, the elderly, and those moving with baby strollers. Those wishing to use the service can order 1-24 hours in advance via the mobile number (050) 268 00 65 or the “Bakumetro” mobile application (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=az.besmobile.metro).
