Baku Metro operating hours to be extended

06 MARCH / 2024 / 10:24

Due to the UEFA Europa League quarter-final match involving the Qarabag Football Club, changes to the operating schedule of the Baku metro will be made. Following a request from the Azerbaijan Football Federations Association (AFFA), and considering that the match at the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium will conclude late at night, the operating hours of all metro stations will be extended by one hour from the night of March 7 to the morning of March 8. To accommodate passengers leaving the stadium after cultural and mass events in our capital, all stations will remain open for entry until 01:00.

Additionally, due to the high public interest in the match, extra measures will be taken at stations to ensure the safe and comfortable transport of passengers. In line with Baku Metro's operational plan, an enhanced working regime will be implemented at the "Ganjlik" station near the stadium. To strengthen control mechanisms, a shift schedule will be organized, and additional staff will be allocated to the station. Contingency measures will also be considered at the “28 May” and “Narimanov” stations.
If necessary, reserve trains will be kept ready to be deployed onto the line. After 24:00, trains will operate according to a special schedule. Although trains will operate according to the autumn-winter workday schedule throughout March 7, the regulation of movement according to demand will be carefully monitored.
