Baku Metro Closed Joint Stock Company has been conducting anti-epidemic preventive measures against coronavirus infection since February 21 at all Metro facilities and trains.
According to the action plan prepared in accordance with the agreement signed with a licensed company and under the supervision of the employees of the relevant structural unit of the Baku Metro CJSC, the licensed company has fully completed the disinfection of all the trains at the "Narimanov" electrical depot. The measures will be continued in the second round. It should also be noted that the disinfection measures cover all parts of the carriage interior.
According to the action plan, the disinfection has also been carried out in the canteen of the Narimanov electric depot. Besides, public control over the implementation of preventive measures is provided. Sohrab Mansurov, a trusted physician of the Department of Health and Social Security of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, also attended the event. Besides, Emin Kabirlinski, a physician and labor inspector of the Trade Union of Baku Metro Workers, closely watched the work. They both highly appreciated the organization of the preventive measures.
Starting on February 26, daily anti-epidemic preventive measures against coronavirus infection are underway at the stations. All the hand-contact points at workstations, including but not limited to Doors, windows, stairs, passageways, vestibules, plinths, escalator handrails and other places, are cleaned with special disinfectants on a daily basis. These activities are repeated several times a day and monitored regularly. The disinfectants used on a daily basis are safe for human health. The preventive disinfections carried out at the stations at night time, when passengers do not use the underground, include passageways, vestibules, plinths and tracks.
In accordance with the action plan, the disinfection work is carried out in stages in all of the administrative buildings and canteens of Baku Metro CJSC, including office and working rooms, lavatories, vestibules, corridors, etc.
It should be noted that a large spectrum drug “ProGreen DEZ-8” is used in the subway to disinfect coronavirus. This disinfectant is meant for all types of germs, bacteria, viruses, fungi, tuberculosis, as well as blood, sores and feces.
Besides, since January 30, 2020, Baku Metro has been carrying out extensive awareness-raising activities on coronavirus in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization, Ministry of Health of and Medical Area Offices Management Association (MEDIC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan
Hotlines at 964 and (012) 490 00 00 are in use at Baku Metro (http://metro.gov.az/az/contacts) for inquires of public interest on the ongoing anti-coronavirus measures by the Metro. Considering the importance of the coronavirus issue, a separate telephone line - +994 (12) 490 01 01 - has been assigned to establish a telephone connection with Baku Metro regarding other issues.
