According to the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers, the working hours of the Baku Metro have been changed from March 29. Metro stations are open to passengers from 07:00 to 09:00 in the morning and from 17:00 to 20:00 in the evening.
"Baku Metro" CJSC has been carrying out preventive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection from the very first days and is constantly working in this direction. After the new working hours were set on March 29, Baku Metro did not slow down the process, but intensified it.
The most important part of the work was to educate passengers and give them recommendations. After the transition to the new working hours, the control over the flow and education of passengers in the metro, and over the decisions made, in particular, with regard to maintaining the social distance between passengers, has been strengthened.
The current traffic schedule in the Baku metro, and especially the inter-train interval, allows to meet all the requirements for the orderly transportation of the existing passenger flow, including the maintaining of the social distance. However, passengers also need to pay attention to this issue, and most importantly, to move more orderly and sparingly when the stations are opened.
Taking this into account, another control mechanism has been imposed. Guiding signs were installed at the entrances of Baku metro stations, which restrict and regulate the movement of passengers. In addition, announcements will be made with special loudspeakers at several stations with high passenger traffic, and the stations will continue to intensify the issuance of relevant recommendations to passengers.
We urge our passengers to stay at home again, follow the principles of self-isolation, use the metro only in case of urgent needs, and make sure to keep social distance while using the metro.
