FOUR MORE NEW METRO TRAINS IN BAKU

08 JUNE / 2020 / 12:07

Manufactured at the order of the Baku Metro CJSC at the ‘Mytishchi’ Carriage Plant of the “Metrovagonmash” enterprise, which is part of “Transmashholding” Joint Stock Company, 4 new 81-765. B81- / 766.B type trains of 20 carriages, belonging to the 4th generation and state-of-the-art in terms of innovation, have been delivered to Baku. The long-term development plan of the Baku Metro also provides for the renewal of the carriage fleet through modern and more comfortable carriages for passengers. As a result of the steps taken in this direction in the six years since the creation of the Baku Metro CJSC, 55 new carriages have already been put into operation in the steel subway tracks of the capital. This process of renewing the locomotive fleet of the metro was closely overseen by President Ilham Aliyev. The President touched upon this issue at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers chaired by him on the results of socio-economic development for the first quarter of 2019 and the tasks ahead, saying that the work would be continued in the coming years to provide the metro with state-of-the-art and comfortable cars.
The trains are designed for direct connection between carriages, increasing the capacity of the carriage by 15 percent, and ensuring equal distribution of passengers across the train. The doors of these carriages are also wide, with a light warning system provided for opening and closing doors. There are also multi-purpose zones for standing passengers, large loads, and areas for wheelchairs. The handles are adjusted to the passenger density.
Another distinctive feature of the new carriages is that the original lighting graphics are specially designed for Baku carriages. The design of the headlights of the main carriage has been changed, with the information system adapted to local conditions. Thermal and noise insulation of the carriages has been improved. The reliability of the insulation has made the air conditioning and ventilation system more efficient. Automatic air purification of the air conditioning system is an additional protection against viruses and bacteria. LED lamps installed in the cabin increase or decrease the intensity of the light flux, creating an appropriate ergonomic atmosphere.
The air conditioning system has been developed taking into account the technical conditions of “Baku Metro” CJSC, and adapted to local climatic conditions. The drum-less design of the construction increases the effect of thermal insulation, serving to evenly distribute the air in the hallways.
Given the complexity and profile of the road relief of the Baku Metro, all carriages of the train are equipped with a traction engine, just like in previous orders. In general, the new protection systems against accidents, sliding and fire have significantly increased the safety of carriages.
The carriages also have internal and external video surveillance systems, allowing the driver to fully control the train, monitor any area more closely on the control panel monitor, and assess the situation around it.
The driver's cabin, which has become more comfortable with the expansion of the area, is equipped with technical means and intelligent support systems that monitor the vigilance of the driver. The train also has a diagnostic system that collects, stores and transmits information to the driver's monitor.
The new trains will be launched soon after proper arrangement and adjustment.
