As per the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 310 dated August 29, 2020 "On the extension of the special quarantine regime in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan", the term of the special quarantine regime in the country has been extended to 00:00 on September 30.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers has made another decision on passenger transportation in the Baku metro as per the resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On additional measures to strengthen the special quarantine regime in the territory of Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Yevlakh, Masalli, Jalilabad, Mingachevir cities and Absheron, Barda, Salyan, Khachmaz, Goranboy, Goygol regions” No. 208 of June 19, 2020, “On Additional Measures Related to the Special Quarantine Regulation” No. 178 of 16 May 2020 and “On Amendments to Resolutions No. 236 of 3 July 2020“ On Additional Measures to Tighten the Special Quarantine Regime ” No. 311 of August 29, 2020.
Pursuant to paragraph 3.3 of the Resolution, Part 2 of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 236 of July 3, 2020 “On Additional Measures to Strengthen the Special Quarantine Regime” was amended to change the words “August 31” to “September 15” in paragraph 2.2. Thus, the decision to suspend passenger traffic in the Baku metro was extended until 06:00 on September 15.
According to paragraph 3.2 of the decision, even if the Baku Metro resumes passenger transportation on September 15, it will not serve passengers on the following dates:
From 00:00 on September 19, 2020 to 06:00 on September 21, 2020;
From 00:00 on September 26, 2020 to 06:00 on September 28, 2020.
According to the decision, public transport shall be suspended on these dates in the areas where the special quarantine regime is tightened. It should be noted that in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the country, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the suspension of passenger transportation in the metro until August 31 of this year pursuant to paragraph 3.3 of "On additional measures to tighten the special quarantine regime" No. 278 of August 4, 2020.
