Top-Up Terminals at Koroglu Station Passages Enhancing Passenger Convenience

In an effort to enhance passenger satisfaction, "Baku Metro" JSC continues to implement a series of measures based on ongoing monitoring. As part of these efforts, innovations have been introduced at another station to further improve the "BakuCard" payment system. This includes informing passengers about the use of QR tickets and providing comprehensive support in information provision and understanding of usage rules and sequences.
Over the past two years, "Koroglu" station has transformed into one of the metro's primary entry-exit points due to the number of passengers it serves. During this period, several measures were taken to ensure safety requirements and ease of movement within the station. However, the positioning of fare loading terminals and inspection mechanisms in the vestibule led to congestion and hindered the flow of passengers. As a further step, two terminals have been installed at one of the station's exits with higher passenger traffic to facilitate fare loading. Additionally, another terminal has been placed in the passage area to further increase the movement intensity of passengers in that area.
All three terminals are situated in specially designated areas that do not obstruct the flow of passengers into the station's entrance zone. Observations conducted after the installation of the terminals have positively impacted, facilitating a more orderly and swift movement within the vestibule.
To promote the QR ticket system and enhance passenger information, information boards in Azerbaijani and English regarding the use of QR tickets have been placed at all station entrances and appropriate areas within the vestibules. This process will be implemented across all suitable areas of the stations.
Passengers can familiarize themselves with information in Azerbaijani and English outside the stations using QR codes on information boards, allowing them to access relevant sections on the metro's website.
Moreover, in the vestibule areas where terminals for fare loading are located, QR ticket usage rules, sequences, and other beneficial information are provided. Concise information, accompanied by visual illustrations, makes it easier for passengers to familiarize themselves with this system. By scanning the QR code on the same board, passengers can access more extensive information on the website.
Based on monitoring, the placement of "BakuCard" terminals and additional necessary measures have been determined at Baku metro stations. This includes assessing the needs of those using public transport stops near several stations.
Monitoring continues to explore more suitable forms of informing about payment methods and systems, aiming to further enhance passenger satisfaction in several aspects, improve service culture, and raise its level. Detailed information on upcoming innovations and changes will be provided to the public in the near future.
