01 OCTOBER / 2020 / 11:06

For the 5th year in a row, the Metro Workers' Union (MWU) has been meeting with the children of metro staff families who are admitted to higher education institutions with the highest scores (600 and more). This year, 8 such young people have been named students of various universities in the country.
Due to a number of changes in the school season in the context of a new type of coronavirus ("COVID-19") pandemic in our country, the school year begins with new rules. Departments and enterprises also adapt their activities according to the requirements of coronavirus prevention. In accordance with the requirements of the quarantine regime, a meeting was held with the winners and their parents. Chairman of the Trade Union Arif Mardanov congratulated the parents and their young children, who entered the university for the first time, on behalf of the chairman of the Baku Metro Zaur Huseynov and all metro personnel. It is a real joy for parents who have worked hard for many years to see their children celebrate this day.
"Thank you for making up for this suffering. I hope that after completing your university education, you will contribute to the prosperity of our country as a highly qualified specialist. This will be your duty to the Motherland, "he said. He noted that in the context of Armenian vandalism and its consequences, especially the declaration of martial law in the whole territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, students have a great responsibility to undertake. He said that every young person should complete their education at the highest level and contribute to the development and future of our country. This should be a sacred duty of everyone to the Motherland at the same level with the service of our servicemen facing the enemy on the front line.
Speaking at the meeting, the students, as well as their parents, thanked the management of "Baku Metro" CJSC and the Metro Workers' Trade Union for their attention and care.
The chairman of Metro Workers' Trade Union presented the awards of the organization to the young people who had won the title of studentship and congratulated them and wished them success in their personal lives and education.
